Here is the beginning of my Awesome-Tasting Food weekly. I hope you all like it.
I saw this recipe on SS&GF for cashews. If you love cashews as much as I do, then your gonna want to try it. My problem is we never have cashews around long enough make something with them. They're gone in a split second. Someday I'l hang on to enough and make this.
Spiced Cashews
makes 3 cups
3 cups raw cashews
2 tablespoons canola oil
1 tablespoon honey
1 1/2 – 2 teaspoons kosher salt
1 teaspoon light ancho chili powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon cayenne powder
Preheat the oven to 350F. Line a baking sheet with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper.
Place the cashwes in a medium bowl. Whisk together the canola oil, honey, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, chili powder, paprika, and cayenne powder. Drizzle over nuts, then toss to coat the nuts thoroughly. Taste and add more salt or spice if desired.
Put nuts in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 10 – 13 minutes, stirring halfway through. Let cool on the baking sheet and store in an airtight container at room temperature.
While you're at it you should check out the site: SS&GF
