Awesome-Tasting Food!

Lemon Bread  is just heavenly! It makes my mouth water just typing it out. But that might be because of my love for lemon. I have loved lemons for as long as I can remember. Every birthday I had I always wanted a lemon cake, but no one else in my family likes it. Oh well...

Actually, this bread is really fun to make.

Lemon Tea Bread

1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons grated lemon peel
1 1/2 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
Dash of salt 2x
1/2 cup milk

2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 cup powder sugar (might need more)

Mix butter and sugar. Add eggs and lemon peel, beat well. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt; add to mixture with milk. Transfer to 2 quick bread pans that are well greased. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean at 350 degrees. Cool 10 minutes. Remove from pans and place on a wire rack. Make the glaze and drizzle over warm bread.
