Awesome-Tasting Food!! // chocolate malt crispy bars

Do these look good or what? Only takes 25 minutes to mix up and then you can eat 'em. I actually haven't made this recipe before, but they sound awesome.

Chocolate Malt Crispy Bars

  • 4 cups malted milk balls, divided
  • 1 package (10 ounces) large marshmallows
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 5 cups crisp rice cereal
  • 1 cup malted milk powder, divided
  • 2 cups (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips

  • Chop 1 cup malted milk balls; set aside. In a Dutch oven, combine marshmallows and butter. Cook and stir over medium-low heat until melted. Remove from the heat; stir in the cereal, 3/4 cup malt powder and chopped candy. Press into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. pan.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips; stir until smooth. Stir in remaining malt powder. Spread over cereal bars. Top with remaining malted milk balls. Let stand until set. Cut into squares. Yield: 2 dozen

    Awesome-Tasting Food

The other day we were having company, so I made Ranch Veggie Pinwheels.  After Christmas-caroling one time with my friend Abby, she pulled out these tasty little things for a snack. I had to have the recipe, that's when she told me that it didn't really matter what you put in it, besides ranch dressing mix.
The next time you're hungry for a snack you'll have to try these things.

    Ranch Veggie Pinwheels

    ~1 package cream cheese
    ~1 package ranch dressing mix
    ~chopped red and/or yellow peppers
    ~chopped broccoli
    ~chopped celery
~and any other chopped veggie you want
    ~tortillas or wraps

Mix all ingredients together except tortillas or wraps.
Spread mixture on tortillas and then roll up tightly.

Refrigerate for 1 hour or overnight. (I like to do it overnight.)

The next morning, cut into slices. Place on a platter or container. Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate.

    Enjoy!

    Awesome-Tasting Food!

Here is the beginning of my Awesome-Tasting Food weekly. I hope you all like it.

I saw this recipe on SS&GF for cashews. If you love cashews as much as I do, then your gonna want to try it.  My problem is we never have cashews around long enough make something with them. They're gone in a split second.  Someday I'l hang on to enough and make this.

    Spiced Cashews
    makes 3 cups

    3 cups raw cashews
    2 tablespoons canola oil
    1 tablespoon honey
    1 1/2 – 2 teaspoons kosher salt
1 teaspoon light ancho chili powder
    1 teaspoon paprika
    1/2 teaspoon cayenne powder

Preheat the oven to 350F.  Line a baking sheet with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper.
Place the cashwes in a medium bowl.  Whisk together the canola oil, honey, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, chili powder, paprika, and cayenne powder.  Drizzle over nuts, then toss to coat the nuts thoroughly.  Taste and add more salt or spice if desired.
Put nuts in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.  Bake for 10 – 13 minutes, stirring halfway through.  Let cool on the baking sheet and store in an airtight container at room temperature.

While you're at it you should check out the site:  SS&GF
